Out of all the fun, interesting characters in the Jak series, Seem is one of my favourites. She's the intelligent, mysterious leader of the Golden Order of Precursor monks, strong enough to stand up to Jak even though she knew from the beginning what he was, and big enough to admit she was wrong.
I've drawn her looking quite different than she does in the game, so a little explanation might be in order. Some of the details in this drawing were spawned from a little Plottsel where Seem joins Jak at his father's funeral with a few of the other Precursor monks. The black facepaint she wears shows her mourning - see how the pattern mimicks teartracks? She's wearing her hair out here just because. I wanted to see what she'd look like without it bound in her cap. Her hair here is based loosely around mine - wavy and shoulder-length. I imagine that Seem's hair, however, is white (mine is blonde.) I goofed up a little with her clothes - I wanted her to wear something different but I couldn't picture what a monk would wear to a funeral, so they just ended up really plain.
On a technical note, this drawing was one of my very first experiments with ink. I drew my first version with mechanical pencils and then traced over my original, making a few tweaks here and there.
